Todd & Becky Barner are the leaders for the Journey Christian Church Jr. High youth group (C.I.A.).  They appreciate the support that they have received from the entire church, especially Chris & Amy Duncan, the Sr. High youth leaders, as they grow in their leadership.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT YOUTH GROUP 3

C.I.A. is for all youth in grades 6-8.  We meet every Wednesday night from 6:30 - 8:00 at 402 Douglas St. Feel free to bring friends...we want to impact as many Jr. High youth in this community as possible.

C.I.A. is dedicated to stregthening relationsips with God through service.  Our time together is focused on faith, fun and fellowship with various service projects designed to put our faith to work.

What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

CURRENT LESSON

Walk Thru the Old Testament - This fall, C.I.A. will be embarking on a journey through the Old Testament. They will learn of 77 of the most prominent people, places and events of the Old Testament in chronologial order from creation to Christ. Based upon the unique Walk Thru the Old Testament seminars, students will be taught key phrases and actions to help them remember each of the 77 events. We look forward to this wonderful journey through history.

YOUTH EVENTS

G.O.R.F. - God, Others, Recreation, Fellowship is an annual event for 6th thru 8th graders and is held at Nebraska Christian College in Omaha, NE. This fun filled event shows our youth that they are not alone in their convictions. The somewhat light hearted weekend provides quality time for worship and spiritual thought. Top Christian bands and drama teams have performed over the years. G.O.R.F. provides a great opportunity for young people to be introduced to Jesus Christ or to witness other youth growing in their faith, just as they are. This is an overnight trip which takes place the first Friday/Saturday of February each year. More information is available at http://www.nechristian.edu/.
